About Dr Ronel Duchen

Since 1994 I have been practicing as a Counselling Psychologist. I also qualified as a mediator during this year. Throughout my career, I have been at the forefront of developing innovative techniques and tools to improve the quality and outcomes of assessments and mediation for children and their parents.
In this regard, I am the co-developer of the Child’s Voice toolkit, the Adult Interview System and the Family and Child Mediation process.
The Child’s Voice Toolkit is an interview and support tool for mediators and evaluators in canvassing the views and wishes of children in therapeutic contexts and legal proceedings. The Child’s Voice Toolkit is endorsed by the Office of the Family Advocate. Likewise, the Adult Interview System provides an interview support tool for therapist, mediators and evaluators. Both these tools are used by professionals in South Africa and throughout the world.
The Family and Child Mediation Process (FCM) is a brief structured mediation process developed specifically for the drafting of Parenting Plans. FCM is endorsed by the Office of the Family Advocate.
I have obtained the following qualifications from RAU: B.Sc (Mathematical Sciences), National Higher Education Diploma, B.Sc (Hon) and MA (Psychology) (cum laude). My D.Litt. et Phil degree focused on psychological test development, construction and validation.
